Post-natal hypertension Remote monitoring of new mothers with post-natal or postpartum hypertension

The post natal hypertension monitoring service allows the patient to use a blood pressure device and a choice of communication channels to relay their readings back to the clinician. If the readings breach personalised thresholds, clinicians are notified and can step in as necessary with medical intervention.

Patient readings can be sent to the patient record for authorised health care professionals to view.

Enabling mothers to measure their own blood pressure readings at home alleviates ‘White Coat Syndrome’, experienced by some patients when having their blood pressure taken in a clinical setting. Studies have shown blood pressure measurements taken by a doctor are 50 per cent less accurate than when taken at home.
