The Remote Monitoring Virtual ward team have saved 959 bed days in the five months since launching this service at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. The first six pathways allowed 176 patients to be safely supported at home as an alternative to being looked after on hospital wards. The inaugural programme created efficiency savings worth an estimated £372,000 between November and March, with an estimated average weekly savings of £15,000.
