We’re absolutely delighted to have won the HSJ Independent Provider of the Year Award alongside Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust for our work delivering virtual wards across Leeds and West Yorkshire.  This marks the second HSJ award this year recognising the Leeds virtual wards – a reflection of the scale and impact of the service.

A huge thank you to the judges and an even bigger thank you to our incredible partners at Leeds Teaching Hospitals, who joined us last night to celebrate this achievement.

This award highlights what is possible when digital pathways are built with strong clinical leadership, robust governance and the flexibility to adapt to local needs. Leeds now has one of the most advanced and comprehensive virtual ward programmes in the country and continues to serve as a blueprint for other NHS organisations looking to scale similar models.

The programme is delivering care closer to home, freeing up valuable hospital capacity and providing a clear route for national virtual ward expansion.

Over a 22-month period, the service has supported 1,373 patients, saving 6,727 hospital bed days and generating £2.61 million in efficiency savings, equivalent to £2.12 saved for every £1 spent.

Thank you again to the judges, the brilliant team at Leeds Teaching Hospitals, and our colleagues at Inhealthcare. We’re proud to be making a meaningful difference.

If you’d like to hear more about the Leeds virtual wards programme – how it was developed, scaled and successfully embedded across 14 specialties, we’d be happy to share insights. Drop us an email here – contact@inhealthcare.co.uk.
