Kay Dover was diagnosed with Lupus in 2009 and has loved the freedom of managing her warfarin therapy from outside of the clinic. The INR self-testing service at County Durham and Darlington has stopped Kay from feeling guilty about taking regular time from work and has enabled her to spend time with her family at a very important time in her life. She no longer had to worry about missing clinic appointments or traveling long distances to the clinic in Durham thanks to this service.

When I was asked if I would like to take part in this INR self-testing service, I jumped at the chance, because I wanted the freedom of not needing to go to the clinic every week… without it I don’t know how I would have coped the last few months. The system enables me to take more control over my health, to feel a bit more in charge – more human I suppose.
