Digitally-enabled primary and outpatient care will go mainstream across the NHS. That’s one of the central pledges of the newly published Long Term Plan for the NHS. At Inhealthcare, we’ve been working hard to make this happen. Since our launch in 2012, we have partnered with NHS organisations across the UK for the benefit of patients, health and care professionals and the public purse. Now, for the first time in our company’s history, we’ve established a presence in London.

The North West London Collaboration of Clinical Commissioning Groups has signed an agreement with Inhealthcare which will allow the NHS to work more efficiently and cost effectively by procuring digital services across a population of two million people. Doctors will be able to offer targeted, personalised care to patients, empowering patients with long-term conditions and helping free up capacity within the NHS. Commissioners can choose from a growing number of digital health and care apps and also invent their own, using our toolkit. These apps are connected safely and securely to health and care systems and patient records.

We are delighted to be in the capital. We know our technology gives people the choice of safe and convenient access to health and care services. This makes it easier for clinicians to communicate directly with patients and helps to reduce pressure on GP surgeries and outpatient clinics. Londoners with long-term conditions leading busy lives will have the choice of safe and convenient access to health and care services. No more battling across the capital to attend mundane or routine appointments when it can all be done via smartphone, tablet, desktop computer or telephone landline. Travel seems to be difficult for everyone these days, whether they live in High Street Kensington or rural County Durham.

“We have been looking for a solution which will enable digital innovation among our clinical colleagues so that patients can benefit from the latest digital tools,” said Kwesi Afful, Digital Citizen and Innovation Lead at the North West London Collaboration of Clinical Commissioning Groups. He added: “We are excited about this collaboration with Inhealthcare and believe that it will help us deliver cutting-edge services to help improve health and wellbeing across NW London.”

We are thrilled to be working with the CCGs across such a large area of the capital. This is a big milestone for Inhealthcare. And we believe it can help digitally-enabled primary and outpatient care finally go mainstream across the NHS, as set out in the Long Term Plan.
