Manage obesity with Inhealthcare’s digital weight management service
Obesity has the second largest economic impact on the UK behind smoking, costing the NHS nearly £47bn every year. Our clinically led weight management service uses simple technology to remotely monitor patients to help them achieve a sustainable and healthy weight. Once patients and clinicians have identified exercise and dietary goals, they can be referred to the tier three, specialist weight management service.
Patients can simply weigh themselves from home and communicate their reading and answer a series of clinically determined questions via an automated phone call, SMS, email or our mobile app – My Inhealthcare. All readings are fed directly into the patient record with clinical system integration, including EMIS Web and SystmOne, made automatically available to the dietetic team and GP. If the patient’s BMI falls outside of pre-set clinical parameters, an alert is generated to the appropriate care team for timely intervention.
Our weight management service is powered by our national digital health platform.
Regular self-monitoring of weight with the confidence that a health professional will be able to provide expert support when it is needed will improve the chances of a patient achieving their diet and exercise goals and help them to lose weight.Catherine McShane, dietitian at County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust.
